Alumni Association
Job Search Inspiration Project
Dear Fellow Villanova Law Alumni:
My name is Crispino M. Pastore, a fellow VLS graduate from the Class of 1992. In my desire to give back to my alma mater, I have volunteered to spearhead a project of the Villanova Law Alumni Association’s Career Strategy Committee called the “Job Search Inspiration Project.” This initiative is designed to allow Villanova Law alumni to share their own job search stories to uplift and empower our students and recent graduates who may be facing a discouraging job market. We ask you to help by sharing your own inspirational job search story.
While the majority of our 3Ls secure employment by graduation and virtually all are placed within 9 months of graduation
(particularly now with the support of our greatly enhanced Career Strategy Office), a number of talented candidates remain in the job market after graduation. Indeed, feelings of discouragement and futility can be major hurdles in the job search-even when job opportunities are plentiful.
Here’s how you can help. Please take a moment to share your own inspirational job search story or words of encouragement. Was there a particularly challenging set of circumstances that you conquered to obtain your first legal job? Did your persistence eventually pay off after a prolonged search? How did you eventually triumph and achieve your goal? Do you have any empowering words of advice you could impart to our recent graduates and students currently seeking employment? If you have an uplifting, empowering, or otherwise helpful job search story, please share it briefly through our
online form. Your insight will inspire and encourage graduates and students during tough times in the search, reminding them that there is light at the end of the job search tunnel.
You may remain anonymous if you like. (Although we do encourage you to include your contact information so we may acknowledge your contribution.) Selected stories will be made available to students and alumni through the Career Strategy Office. Also, if you would not mind being contacted by alumni or students who wish to hear more about your experience, please indicate so on your form.
On behalf of the Villanova Law Alumni Association, thank you so much for your anticipated assistance in this endeavor. There’s nothing like the feeling of giving something back to the students and graduates who follow you! I hope you all can experience the same gratification I feel in helping with this very worthy and satisfying cause.
Best regards!
