Nomination Process
Gerald Abraham and Donald Dowd Awards
All members of the Law Community (alumni, faculty, students and friends) are welcome to submit
nominations to be considered each year for the Gerald Abraham Alumni Association
Award for Service to Villanova University School of Law and the Donald W. Dowd
Alumni Association Award for Public Service.
Eligibility
Nominees
must be alumni of Villanova University School of Law. Alumni currently serving
as officers or appointed members (excluding ex-officio) of the
Alumni Association Board of Advisors are not eligible to receive the awards.
Nomination/Award
Selection Procedure
All nominations must be submitted to the Executive Director of the Alumni Association by
Monday, May 17, 2004 (deadline extended from April 30, 2004).
Submissions must include:

Nominee Name, class year,
address, telephone number Nominator Name, class year (if applicable),
address, telephone number;
-
Nomination Statement, one
page, summarizing why the nominee is deserving of the award; and
-
Optional: Supporting
documents, such as, press clippings.
All nominations are reviewed and recipients selected by the Alumni
Associations Awards Committee, subject to the final approval of the Dean.
The more information you provide about your
nominee, the more serious consideration the committee can give to your nominee.
All nominations are confidential and will be acknowledged to the nominator.

St. Thomas of Villanova Pro Bono Award

Law Alumni Award for Pro Bono Service
Villanova
Law Faculty and Staff are welcome to submit nominations each year for the Law
Alumni Award for Pro Bono Service. The primary focus of the award is to reward a
Third Year Student who has actually rendered pro bono service, but the
description also encompasses someone who has contributed to making pro bono
services available, perhaps through the Public Interest Fellowship Program and
Pro Bono Society.
Eligibility
Nominees
must be Third Year Law Students of Villanova University School of Law.
Nomination/Award
Selection Procedure
All nominations must be submitted to the Executive Director of the Alumni Association by
March 1.
