Recognition Program

Each year, Villanova University School of Law and its Alumni Association confer three awards upon alumni and one award upon a third year student in recognition of service to the community and the School of Law.

The Gerald Abraham Alumni Association Award for Service to Villanova University School of Law recognizes outstanding service by alumni to their alma mater. It is presented to alumni who have exhibited outstanding leadership qualities and made significant contributions in time or otherwise to assist the School of Law in fulfilling its mission and goals.

The Donald W. Dowd Alumni Association Award for Public Service recognizes outstanding service by alumni to society, exemplifying the University's roots in the Catholic and Augustinian traditions. It is presented to alumni who have dedicated time and energy to the public welfare to ameliorate the lives of the less fortunate and society at large.

The St. Thomas of Villanova Award for Pro Bono Service is presented to alumni of Villanova University School of Law who have graduated within the past five years and performed exceptional pro bono work since graduation, exemplifying the ideals of this law school.

The Law Alumni Association Award for Pro Bono Service is given annually to the third-year student has contributed the most meaningful pro bono service to those in need.

The 2004 Service Awards will be presented to alumni recipients at the Alumni Association Awards Dinner in the Fall of 2004. The 2005 Law Alumni Award for Pro Bono Service will be presented to a Third Year student at the Third Year Brunch, honoring the Class of 2005 next spring.
