Biography - Dolores Spina Carter

Dolores joined the Career Strategy Office as the Director of Recruitment in May 2005. Dolores graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a minor in Psychology and a Marketing concentration from the Wharton School. She went on to attend Villanova University School of Law, graduating in 1998. As a law student, she served as the Editor of Student Works and was a Staff Writer for the Villanova Sports & Entertainment Law Journal.

Dolores practiced law in Philadelphia for seven years after graduating from Villanova's Law School in 1998. Upon graduation, she began working for the firm of McKissock & Hoffman, P.C., where her practice focused on medical malpractice litigation. She shortly thereafter joined the firm of Post & Schell, P.C., where she continued to practice in the area of medical malpractice. In 2001, Dolores joined the firm of Harvey, Pennington, LTD., where she gained experience in a variety of legal specialties, including commercial, product liability, environmental, real estate, medical malpractice, and health care litigation. In 2002, Dolores was invited to speak as a panelist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine 2002 Litigation Symposium. In 2004, Dolores became associated with the firm of Abrahams, Loewenstein & Bushman, P.C., where she continued cultivating a diverse litigation practice.

Dolores brings a wealth of recruiting, marketing, and mentoring experience to her role as Director of Recruitment. While in private law practice, Dolores was active in client development and firm marketing initiatives. Dolores also participated in firm recruiting and mentoring programs, spending significant time and effort to develop junior attorneys. While practicing at smaller and medium sized law firms, she gained valuable insight into the needs of these important legal employers.

Dolores is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and New Jersey Bar Associations as well as a member of the National Association for Law Placement. Dolores was an enthusiastic member of the J. Willard O'Brien Inn of Court since its inception in January 2000. She also served on Villanova Law's 2003 Alumni Reunion Committee. Dolores is currently an active member of the Saturday Club of Wayne, a local philanthropic organization.
