Career Strategy
Mission
The mission of the Office of Career Strategy & Advancement is to provide
core career planning education, recruitment programs, and individual counseling
that serve as the foundation for our students' future professional development
and satisfaction. The Career Strategy team, which includes 3 experienced
attorney-advisors and a career strategy specialist, works together to partner
with students in identifying and achieving their career goals. In addition, the
Career Strategy Office works with employers from diverse practice sectors and
locations to recruit Villanova's talented students and alumni.

Staff Contacts & Biographies
Each member of our staff brings unique perspectives and skills to the Career
Strategy mission.
Elaine Petrossian joined Villanova Law in August 2000, after practicing law
in 2 major Philadelphia law firms as a commercial litigator and gaining considerable
experience in attorney hiring, evaluation, training, and mentoring. As Assistant
Dean, Elaine has primary responsibility for the overall mission and administration
of the Career Strategy & Advancement, employer outreach and development,
and implementation of programs and policies. Elaine also works closely with
practicing attorneys, alumni, law school administration, and faculty to monitor
employment trends, develop programs, and market Villanova Law to the employer
community. In addition, Elaine works with students individually and in groups
to plan career development strategies and to maximize their potential for career

Dolores Spina Carter, Esq. (VLS '98) joined the Career Strategy Office in May of 2005, after practicing law for 7 years in Philadelphia. As the Director of Recruitment, Dolores has primary responsibility for the Law School's year round Recruitment Programs. Dolores works closely with our employer community to expand and maintain high quality student recruiting programs and job fairs, as well as markets Villanova Law to the legal community. Sara joined Villanova in August 2002. A graduate of Villanova Law, Sara has
committed her entire career to public interest work. Before joining Villanova
as Director of Public Service & Pro Bono, Sara served as Staff Attorney and
as Volunteer Attorney Project Coordinator for Women Against Abuse Legal Center
in Philadelphia. She also spent time as a Staff Attorney with the Domestic Abuse
Project of Delaware County. Prior to law school, Sara served as a Counselor
and Advocate with Delaware County Women Against Rape. In this way, Sara was
able to build upon the undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Women's Studies
she earned from Penn State, where she was Phi Beta Kappa and a University Scholar.

Carol Nobrun joined the Career Strategy team in September 2004. As Career
Strategy Specialist, Carol provides the primary administrative support to our On
Campus and Off Campus Recruitment Programs and Job Fairs, as well as our
Lawyering Together Pro Bono Programs, Public Interest / Public Service Job Fair,
and other job listing programs.
Carol brings a wealth of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing
business projects and procedures. Before joining Villanova, Carol spent three
years at Independence Blue Cross, in the Claims Adjustment and Resolution
Department. Due to her proactive approach to efficiency improvement, Carol was
promoted to Administrative Workflow Coordinator and put in charge of
restructuring, implementing, and teaching new systems and programs to her work
team.
Carol has also worked in university student services. While training to
become a Certified Medical Assistant, Carol successfully completed an internship
at the University of Pennsylvania Student Health Division. In this role, Carol
gained invaluable experience serving students in a busy clinical environment.
Carol is a native of Philadelphia and is pursuing her degree in Business
Management at Villanova University.
