Diversity Fairs

Villanova's Career Strategy Office participates in numerous recruitment programs and job fairs intended to increase diversity in the legal profession. These programs can provide excellent opportunities to meet with employers who have expressed commitment to diversity. NOTE: First Years may apply for jobs after December 1. Learn more about each of our primary programs below.

Philadelphia Area Minority Job Fair

Each September, large law firms in Philadelphia host this Fair to encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to practice in Philadelphia. Career Strategy collects registrations and applications for the PAMJF during the July Resume Drop. Interviews take place at Penn's campus (Lauder Career Center). More information and student registration details can be found at the PAMJF website.

Lavender Law Conference

Each Fall, the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association (NLGLA) hosts an annual conference and career fair. Career Strategy will provide students with registration information in early Fall.

DuPont Minority Job Fairs

Each August, these job fairs feature employment opportunities with law firms and other legal service providers doing business with DuPont. Students may participate in DuPont Job Fairs in Wilmington, DE, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA. In April, Career Strategy notifies students about how to register.

Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference

In September, the Twin Cities Committee on Minority Lawyers in Large Law Firms and the Hennepin County Bar Association sponsors a Recruitment Conference for students interested in employment and diversity in the Minnesota area. Recruitment and educational events are held in downtown Minneapolis. Career Strategy publicizes registration instructions in late Spring.

Delaware Minority Job Fair for 2Ls and 3Ls

Each September, the Delaware State Bar Association's Committee For Diversity in the Legal Community hosts a job fair and educational conference for students interested in Delaware practice. Besides interviewing with private and public employers, students are welcomed by leaders of the Delaware Bench and Bar. Career Strategy publicizes registration instructions in April. Interviews and events take place at the Wilmington campus of Widener University School of Law.

In January, the Delaware State Bar Association's Committee For Diversity in the Legal Community hosts a job fair and educational conference for First Year students interested in Delaware practice. Besides interviewing with private and public employers, students are welcomed by leaders of the Delaware Bench and Bar. Career Strategy publicizes registration instructions in November and December. Interviews and events take place at the Wilmington campus of Widener University School of Law.

National Black Prosecutors Association Job Fair

In conjunction with the Annual Conference each August, the National Black Prosecutors Association (NBPA) hosts a Job Fair to promote the recruitment, training and career advancement of African-American attorneys as prosecutors at all levels of government. The NBPA Job Fair is an excellent opportunity to meet, network, and interview with attorneys from local, state, and federal prosecutors’ offices from across the country. More information can be found at www.blackprosecutors.org. Career Strategy publicizes registration instructions in late Spring.

Mid-Atlantic Black Law Students Association Job Fair

Each October, the Mid-Atlantic Black Law Students Association (MABLSA) hosts a Job Fair for students interested in networking and interviewing with a wide variety of private and public legal employers throughout the Mid-Atlantic/New York region. Career Strategy publicizes registration instructions in early Fall.
