Job Fairs
A number of public interest and government employers participate in general Villanova Recruitment Programs and job fairs. Many public service employers find it more efficient to recruit in specialized job fairs featuring the public service sector-or sponsored by multiple law schools. There are two job fairs that should not be missed by students interested in public service careers. Below is an overview, but for more information, contact the Career Strategy Office.
Equal Justice Works (formerly "NAPIL") Career Fair
Each October, the Equal Justice Works Career Fair is held annually in Washington D.C. In August and September, Career Strategy publicizes registration information for students. This Fair presents a unique opportunity for law students and graduates to meet and interview with employers from across the country in a single location. It is the largest job fair of its kind. Students interested in public interest can learn more about different fields of work, network with lawyers, attend informational interviews, and schedule interviews with potential employers.
Philadelphia Public Interest/Public Service ("PIPS") Career Fair
Each February, the PIPS Career Fair is sponsored by the Consortium of Greater Philadelphia Area Law Schools (including Villanova) and the Public Interest Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. The PIPS Fair attracts a great assortment of public interest and government employers from the Philadelphia region and beyond. Summer, permanent, full-time and part-time positions are available. Additionally, prospective employers give presentations about their work throughout the day.
Career Strategy will coordinate registration beginning in November. (NOTE: First Year Students may participate). Interviews take place at Temple's Center City Campus in Philadelphia.
