2004-2005 Financial Aid
Disbursement Information
Students enrolled in the traditional fall/spring terms, will receive half of their funds (minus fees) for fall semester and half for spring semester. Students enrolled for the summer/fall/spring will receive three separate and equal disbursements, one for each semester. If you are enrolled for only one semester or your loan term is for only one semester, your Federal Stafford Loans will come in two disbursements (one at the beginning of the semester and the second one
half-way through the semester); however your private loan may come in one disbursement.
Bills are sent out in July for fall semester and November for spring semester. If you are a graduate tax student or a JD/MBA student and are enrolled in a summer session, you should receive a bill for summer in May. All tuition and fee charges must be paid no later than the first day of classes or a $50 late fee will be assessed by the Bursar's Office.
If you received a scholarship, moral obligation grant, an institutional loan, a Federal Perkins Loan or a Villanova Law School Loan, a credit will be reflected on your account and your bill only if you have completed all the necessary promissory notes, credit disclosure statements, and other forms and have submitted them to the Financial Aid Office.
Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan funds will come either by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or by check. EFT funds cannot be requested any earlier than 13 days before the first day of classes and cannot be credited to your account any earlier than 10 days before the first day of classes. EFT funds will automatically be credited to your account and you will be notified by the Bursar’s Office.
If you receive Federal Stafford Loan funds by check, you will need to go to the Bursar’s Office to endorse these checks so that they can be credited to your account. These funds also cannot be credited to your account any earlier than 10 days before the first day of classes.
If you are a first-time borrower, you will need to attend an Entrance Interview Session (held right before classes begin) before any checks can be endorsed or
EFT credits can be made to your account.
Private loan funds will be disbursed either by check or EFT approximately 10 days before the first day of classes. If you receive your private loan funds by EFT they will automatically be credited to your account. If you receive these funds by check and if the check is made co-payable to you and the school, you will need to go to the Bursar’s Office to endorse the check before it can be credited to your account.
