Eligibility Information
Requirements
A student must meet the following criteria for receipt of federal aid:
- Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student in an eligible program.
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen with appropriate documentation.
- Maintain satisfactory progress, as defined by this institution, toward a degree (see the Student Handbook for requirements).
- Sign a statement certifying that you will use federal student aid funds only for educational purposes, that you are not in default on a federal student loan or have made satisfactory arrangements to repay it and that you do not owe money back on a federal student grant or have made satisfactory arrangements to repay it.
- Have a valid Social Security number.
- Register with Selective Service, if required.
- Meet the requirements of Section 668.40 of the Title IV Higher Education Act of 1965 concerning conviction for sale and possession of illegal drugs.
Eligibility Formulas
Eligibility for need-based financial aid (i.e. scholarships, Subsidized Federal Stafford Loans, Federal Perkins Loan, Villanova Law School Loans and Federal Work-Study) is determined by the first formula; non need-based aid (i.e. Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans, private loans) by the second formula.

Once all of the necessary forms have been received in the Financial Aid Office and your information verified, we will notify you of your eligibility for funds by
an award letter, listing the aid for which you are eligible. Aid is only processed for returning students and accepted incoming students. Financial aid information received from students who have not been admitted will be held until such time as they are admitted. Notification of any scholarships will come separately.
