2004-2005 Financial Aid

Visiting Students

JD students who wish to “visit” another institution must first contact the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for approval. Graduate tax students must contact the Director of the Graduate Tax Program for approval. If financial aid is needed to fund this program, you will have to complete the following Visiting Student Information Form as a Consortium Agreement must be signed by both schools involved and the student. All financial aid for Villanova Law School students is processed through the Villanova Law School Financial Aid Office.

Students who receive permission to visit at another institution will have their financial aid processed by Villanova Law School but the costs will be provided by the host institution. Loans will be processed for the traditional academic year of fall and spring semesters using the enrollment dates provided by the host institution and have two disbursements.

All funds, both Federal Stafford Loans and private loans, must first be disbursed to Villanova Law School. In the event that funds are disbursed by paper check, Villanova University must first send the check to the student for endorsement and then wait until the endorsed check is returned to the Bursar’s Office. Once the endorsed check has been received or, if the funds are disbursed by EFT, once the EFT disbursement has been received, the Bursar’s Office will prepare a refund check made payable to the host institution and the check will be mailed directly to that institution. Visiting students will be notified when the refund check has been sent. It is the host institution’s responsibility to refund any funds over and above the cost of tuition and fees to the student for living expenses. Because of the extra time needed for this process, students should be prepared for a delay in receiving these refunds.
