2005-2006 Financial Aid
Refunds
If the total aid applied to your account creates a credit balance, you will receive a refund. No refund can be made to you any earlier than 10 days before the first day of classes. Your money can be refunded to you either by check or by a
direct deposit into your personal bank account. Either way, the Bursar’s Office will produce this refund no later than 14 days after the later of either the date the credit balance occurs, the first day of classes of a payment period or the date you rescind your authorization to have funds held on account to pay for other charges.
If you use direct deposit and have funds deposited directly into your personal bank account, you can go on Novasis and check your student account to see if this has taken place. When you see a refund transaction, your deposit should be in your account within 2 to 3 business days.
If you chose to have your refund in the form of a check, the Office of Financial Aid will notify you when the refund check is ready and you will need to go to the Bursar’s Office across campus to pick this up. You will have one week to pick up this check or it will be mailed to the permanent address you gave to the Registrar’s Office and is on the Novasis system.
You have the right to cancel any of your loans at any time by notifying the Office of Financial Aid in writing.
The Bursar’s Office will process refunds as quickly as possible but as they cannot always do this immediately, other arrangements should be made to pay for your books and other initial living expenses.
