Recommended Course Sequence
In general, students are permitted to arrange their own schedules and choose the sequence of courses that matches their own needs and time availability, subject to the core curriculum requirements described above.
However, required courses should usually be taken first. The recommended sequence of courses is listed below:
LL.M. Candidates
1, 2, 3
Core Curriculum (Introduction to Taxation, Taxation of Property Dispositions, Tax Procedure, taken in that order).
4, 5, 6
(Any sequence) Federal Wealth Transfer Taxation, Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders, Partnership Taxation.

Tax Research and Writing may be taken at any time after four courses are completed. The Professional Responsibility
Symposium can also be taken at any time.
At this point, select electives including required planning course.
M.T. Candidates
1, 2, 3, 4
Core Curriculum (Legal Orientation, Introduction to Taxation, Taxation of Property Dispositions, Tax Procedure, taken in that order).
5, 6, 7
(Any sequence) Federal Wealth Transfer Taxation, Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders, Partnership Taxation.
8
Tax Research and Writing may be taken at any time after four courses are completed.
At this point, select electives including required planning course.
The Director and the Program Coordinator are available to advise students on selecting and sequencing courses to meet career goals and employment needs.
