Dean James received his B.A. from Morehouse College, his J.D. from Howard University School of Law, and his M.S.L.S. from Atlanta University School of Library Science. Prior to joining the faculty in 1988, he was Director of the Law Library and Professor of Law at the University of Kentucky College of Law, and an Assistant Law Librarian and Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law.

Dean James’ research and teaching interests focus on legal research.
