Professor Lurie received his A.B. from West Virginia and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. At Michigan, he was an assistant editor of the Michigan Law Review. Before joining the faculty in 1968, Professor Lurie was a trial attorney at the Federal Trade Commission.

Professor Lurie’s research and teaching interests focus on trade regulation, intellectual property, administrative law, and antitrust.
