Professor Cohen received his A.B. from Brown University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. At Pennsylvania, he was an editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and elected to the Order of the Coif. Following graduation, he was a law clerk to the Honorable Alfred Luongo of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and was an Associate-in-Law at the University of California School of Law at Berkeley (Boalt Hall). Before joining the faculty in 1971, Professor Cohen was in private practice in Philadelphia.
Professor Cohen’s research and teaching interests focus on bankruptcy, electronic commerce, and secured transactions.
