Professor Dobbyn received his A.B. from Harvard University, his J.D. from Boston College Law School, and his LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
At Boston College Law School, he was Casenote Editor on the Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Following law school, he was a law clerk to the Honorable Anthony Julian of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He then was an associate at Burns & Levinson in Boston before joining the faculty in 1969.
Professor Dobbyn’s research and teaching interests focus on insurance, remedies, and criminal law.
