Professor Hyson received his B.A. from Boston College, his M.A. from the University of North Carolina, and his LL.B. from Harvard Law School. Following law school, he was a law clerk to the Honorable W. Arthur Garrity, Jr. of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He then was an associate attorney at Warner & Stackpole in Boston and served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston before joining the faculty in 1971.
Professor Hyson’s research and teaching interests focus on environmental law, civil procedure, and land use.
