Professor Packel received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and J.D. from Harvard Law School. Before joining the faculty in 1973, he was Chief of the Trial Division for the Defender Association of Philadelphia, Executive Secretary for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Criminal Procedural Rules Committee, an associate attorney at the law firm of Diamond, Polsky & Bauer, and Chief of the Office of Criminal Law at the Department of Justice in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Professor Packel’s research and teaching interests focus on evidence, legal profession, criminal law, and trial practice.
