Professor Wertheimer received her B.A. summa cum laude and J.D. from Yale University. At Yale, she was a member of the Yale Law Journal. Following law school, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Frank A. Kaufman of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the Honorable James Hunter III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She also worked as an associate at Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz in Philadelphia. Professor Wertheimer joined the faculty in 1982.

Professor Wertheimer’s research and scholarly interests focus on products liability, medical malpractice, law and medicine, and torts.
