Professor Zimmerman received her A.B., summa cum laude with Departmental Honors, from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. from Yale Law School. At Yale, she was an Articles Editor for the Yale Journal of International Law, Director of the Street Law high school instruction program, and member of the Board of Directors of the Thomas Swan Barristers’ Union. Before joining the faculty in 2001, Professor Zimmerman clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and was an Assistant District Attorney in the District Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Professor Zimmerman’s research and teaching interests focus on legal research and writing and criminal law.
