Public Interest Auction

The Public Interest Fellowship Program (PIFP) at the Villanova University School of Law raises money  for fellowships by selling items, solicited by students, at an auction held at Villanova in March. The First auction, in April, 1998, raised $19,000 and awarded six fellowships. In 2001, a committee of students, faculty, and staff threw a live and silent auction, which raised $40,000. As a result, ten students were awarded fellowships in the amount of $4,000 for work they did with public interest and public service organizations during the summer of 2001. Since its founding in 1998, PIFP has raised over $132,000 and has awarded a total of 36 fellowships.

Prior fellowship recipients have worked at such organizations as the Philadelphia Women's Law Project, Greater Boston Legal Services, the Philadelphia Defender Association, Pennsylvania Health Law Project and the Philadelphia AIDS Law Project.
